Tahoe Grizzlies end successful season in state tournament

Northern California Junior Hockey Association playoff runner-up Tahoe Grizzlies went 0-3 in the state tournament Friday and Saturday in San Jose.

The Grizzlies lost to the Anaheim Wildcats 10-2 on Friday in their Squirt B tournament opener, then were beaten 8-0 by Bakersfield on Saturday.

Tahoe concluded only the second state tournament appearance by one of its teams with a 10-2 loss to NorCal league champion Tri Valley 10-2 Saturday afternoon. Tri Valley, which went unscathed against NorCal opponents this season, lost to Bakersfield 4-2 and Anaheim 3-1.
