Tahoe Mountain Fair set for today at Pine Cone Acre

Sara Thompson

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce will present the first Tahoe Mountain Fair on Sunday.

The fair will feature food booths, arts and crafts, wine tasting, music, a car show and carnival games.

The event is put on in conjunction with the El Dorado Chamber and KOWL/KRLT. Chamber President Danny Freemon said the chamber wants to make this an annual event.

The chamber wants to have more shoulder season events. This fair will help get things going so they can build off of it.

Freemon said he’s worked in mountain towns before and places like Aspen and Breckenridge always have events happening, and Tahoe needs to do the same.

“We need more of them,” Freemon said.

The event will also raise money to help the chamber sustain itself. Right now, Freemon said the chamber is running on membership dues only.

The fair is from 1 to 7 p.m. on May 25 at the Pine Cone Acre, which is on the corner of 11th Street and Highway 89.

For more information on booth spaces, call Freemon at (530) 544-4424. If anyone is interested in volunteering, call the chamber office at (530)542-5060.
