Tahoe Parents Nursery School is celebrating its 46th year and accepting new members for the 2004-05 school year. TPNS is not just another preschool but a caring and supportive group that values the development of parenting as well as the development of the child.

Members of Lake Tahoe’s only cooperative preschool will take part in a quality, parent-based preschool experience for their children. Each parent/family works at the school one day per week and attends parent education classes. The school offers preschoolers a creative environment where they can learn, share and form friendships. TPNS includes a program rich in arts and crafts, music, literacy, language, science, pre-math and cooking and motor skills. The program strives to nurture the entire family by providing support, partnership and resources for positive parenting. The program is part of the Lake Tahoe Community College Early Childhood Education Department.

Classes will begin in September with parenting classes taking place on Monday evenings and the preschool operating from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday at Al Tahoe Elementary School. Tuition is $50 per month per child and the children must be 3 years of age by Dec. 3. For membership information call Tamara at (530) 577-LOVE.
