Tahoe Parents Nursery School’s philosophy, “Together We’re Better,” provides a cooperative learning environment where preschool children experience the power of positive, play-based education surrounded by caring families and teachers.

TPNS invites families to experience this philosophy by attending its open house on Monday May 19 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event will be filled with food, fun and friends.

For the past 55 years, the nursery school has provided developmentally appropriate education designed to enhance cognitive, emotional, social and physical skills of children, through a hands-on program rich in language, literature, motor skills, music, science, art and cooking.

The program operates Monday through Thursday from about 9 a.m. until noon. The tuition fees are $80 a month per child. Parent participation is a vital part of the program. Parents spend one morning each week in the classroom. Parents have the added benefit of earning Early Childhood Education credit through Lake Tahoe Community College.

Families interested in attending preschool can come meet the teachers, current students and their families. If you have a child not currently of preschool age (less than 3 years old) and are considering TPNS in the future, you should contact the school to add your child to the waiting list. For more information, please call the school, located at 1100 Lyons Ave., at 530-531-8767.
