Tahoe Parents Nursery School will be opening soon and is currently accepting new members for the 2004-2005 school year. This is the preschool’s 46th year of serving Lake Tahoe families. Members of Lake Tahoe’s only cooperative preschool will take part in a quality preschool experience for their children. Under the guidance of caring, experienced and credentialed directors each parent/family participates at the school one morning per week and attends parent education enrichment classes from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday.

The school offers preschoolers a creative environment where they can learn, share and form friendships. TPNS includes a program rich in literacy, language, science, pre-math, arts, music, cooking and motor skills. The program strives to nurture the entire family by providing support, partnership and resources for positive parenting.

Past parents have given the program consistently high evaluations. Their comments include: “There is a real sense of community and a lot of support with the children being the main focus.” “I really enjoy the impact of all the parent involvement and the personal experiences we share.” “My child is now confident and fully prepared for kindergarten.”

A welcome brunch is scheduled for all parents Sept. 10. The first day of school is Sept. 14. The preschool hours are 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday at Al Tahoe Elementary School. Tuition is $50 per month per child and the children must be 3 years of age by Dec. 3. For membership information call Tamara at (530) 577-5683.
