Tahoe Pro-Am disc golf tournament to fly this weekend

Six division titles are up for grabs Saturday and Sunday in the annual Tahoe Pro-Am disc golf tournament at Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe.

There are four amateur and two pro divisions for players to choose from in the three-round tournament format. The cost is $60 for amateurs and $75 for professionals. There will be a putting contest, raffle prizes and an awards ceremony at Mo’s Place. More than $4,000 in prizes will he handed out.

Players can register in a variety of ways: by phoning tournament director Steve Newell at (530) 545-0569, going to tahoediscgolf.com, stopping by Mo’s Place on Friday night from 6-9 or just prior to the start of the tournament on Saturday morning from 7-8.

Defending pro champion is entered Chris Robbins. Also expected to compete in the pro class are Grass Valley’s Greg Barsby, a previous top 5 finisher in the world; Santa Cruz’s Mike Harding, a junior pro amateur champion and top 10 finisher in the world; and Sacramento’s Bill Kohler, the 2009 King of the Lake winner.
