Tahoe Rim Trail group offers shuttles to hikers

Hiking and backpacking the entire Tahoe Rim Trail just became easier.

A new shuttle service run out of the Spooner Lake Outdoor Company will transport hikers from their end destinations to the trailheads where their vehicles are parked.

This way, hikers end up at their cars after completing a specific segment of the renowned 165-mile trail. Almost 100 Rim Trail Association members have completed the trail that circles Lake Tahoe.

The cost for the 8 a.m. shuttle is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

Reservations may be made by calling 775-749-5349.
