Tahoe storms fetch snow in time for holidays (video)

Provided by Kirkwood Mountain ResortA bluebird powder day at Kirkwood on Thursday after three storm systems dumped 3 to 4 feet of snow on the mountain.

With up to 1-foot of snow overnight, it’s already looking a lot like Christmas in South Shore Lake Tahoe. Ski resorts around South Tahoe are rejoicing.

In the last 12 hours Thursday, Sierra-at-Tahoe reports 15 inches of new snow, Kirkwood Mountain Resort 19-24 inches and Heavenly Mountain resort 12-18 inches. The overall snow storm totals are up to 4 feet, according to the ski areas.

According to weather.com, lake level accumulations are expected to reach 8-14 inches with 1-2 feet above 7,000-feet.
