Tahoe Arts Project is beginning its 21st season with the amazing TAP KIDS. Eight of the nation’s most talented young tap dancers will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the South Tahoe High School Little Theater in this rousing, joyous celebration of American youth culture.

Since its debut at The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in 2002, the show has enjoyed tremendous success across the country and abroad, thrilling audiences of all ages with their incredible talent and fierce passion.

TAP KIDS have twice traveled south of the border to Mexico most recently to headline in four Mexican cities at the Tamaulipas International Festival.

TAP KIDS were featured performers in a star-studded gala for the Queen of Holland at The Royale Theatre Carre in Amsterdam and returned to Europe for a three-week tour of The Netherlands.

They made their national television debut on the star-studded Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon in September 2005.

In a series of musical vignettes TAP KIDS tells the story of a group of high-school kids facing challenges both mundane and momentous as they prepare for the big school dance at the end of the day and, ultimately, for graduation at the end of their senior year.

With an original score by Philip Stern and choreography by Lisa Hopkins, TAP KIDS takes this traditional dance form to new heights in an electrifying performance that is hip, contemporary, and uplifting.

Tickets for the Friday, Oct. 5th show are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for seniors and can be purchased in advance at the California and Nevada Visitors Centers.

To charge tickets by phone please call (530) 542-3632. Two members of TAP KIDS will be performing for students this week as part of Tahoe Arts Project’s in school arts program.

The school shows are lecture demonstrations and include audience participation, but on Friday the full company will perform their full length show. Don’t miss your opportunity to see TAP KIDS on Friday, 7 p.m. at the South Tahoe High School Little Theater. For more information call Tahoe Arts Project at (530) 542-3632.
