Tahoe Toy Run this Saturday

Provided to the Tribune

The 17th annual Tahoe Toy Run has been scheduled for this Saturday. Motorcycles will line up at the Horizon Casino Resort at 10 a.m. They will leave the Horizon at noon and proceed along Lake Tahoe Boulevard in parade formation. The parade will be led by Santa Claus to the Brother’s Place on Emerald Bay Road.

It is not necessary to have a motorcycle to attend the Tahoe Toy Run – everyone is welcome. While no admittance is being charged, a donation of a new unwrapped toy or item for a teenager will be accepted. Toy drop-off locations will be at the Horizon from 10 a.m. to noon and at the Brother’s Place until 3 p.m.

Bikers from all over California and Nevada will lend their support, each with a Christmas gift to donate. The Tahoe Toy Run is a major fundraiser for Christmas Cheer each year. Christmas Cheer is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food to needy families and Christmas toys to under privileged children in the community.

Entertainment will include raffle prizes, and auction, barbecue and live music featuring the and Shamus. Event T-shirts will also be sold. Local businesses provide prizes for the raffle and auction. For more information call Toy Run coordinator Mary Luckel at (530) 541-4332. Christmas Cheer is open all year and can be reached at (530) 542-4934.
