Tahoe Tribune parent company to print RGJ
Swift Communications — the parent company of the Tahoe Daily Tribune and Lake Tahoe Action — announced Wednesday that starting May 2, the Reno Gazette-Journal will be printed by the Carson City-based PressWorks, Ink.
PressWorks, Ink — operated by Swift — will add the RGJ’s print and packaging services to its extensive commercial print customer-base in Northern Nevada and California.
“We are pleased to be printing the Reno Gazette-Journal and look forward to a long-term print partnership with them,” said Chris Johnston, general manager of PressWorks, Ink. “This addition helps PWI fully utilize our state of the art print facility and adds jobs to the local economy.”
PressWorks, Ink, and Swift Communications are based out of 580 Mallory Way in Carson City, where the Nevada Appeal also is produced and printed, among other several regional newspapers.

“The decision was made to create operational efficiencies, and as a result of Carson City’s newer equipment, color capabilities will increase, giving advertisers more options,” Ryan Kedzierski, Gazette-Journal president, said in a prepared statement, according to a Wednesday story from the RGJ.
In related news, Kedzierski also announced Wednesday that the RGJ is placing for sale its building, located at 955 Kuenzli St.
