TahoeChamber receives awards

TahoeChamber executive staff recently received two awards at The Western Association of Chamber Executives in San Francisco.

The first award acknowledged the third annual Labor Day weekend festival Sample the Sierra, which is part of a geotourism initiative to enhance sustainable tourism and to increase year-round visitation by focusing on the destination’s authentic assets, according to a press release.

The second award recognized TahoeChamber’s work with TahoeFuture. For 20 years, the vocal minority has derailed environmental and economic revitalization efforts in the Basin. TahoeFuture.org was conceived as a way to shift this dynamic, by galvanizing a support base that wants to see economic and environmental gains implemented, the release stated.
