Tahoe Arts Project will present the theatrical group Great Leap at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Lake Tahoe Community College. “A Slice of Rice, Frijoles and Greens” is a humorous and poignant mix of stories that give vivid insights into the Asian, Latin and African American experiences.

Using theater, music and dance, these artists open windows to their own world through their personal tales. Though each slice may be different, “rice, frijoles and greens” join to make a statement that entertains while enlighting, taking audiences beyond cultural borders. Stereotypes are broken and barriers are melted with laughter in this entertaining family program.

Tickets for this event are $7 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. They may be purchased in advance at the Tahoe Douglas and South Lake Tahoe chambers of commerce, the Party House, Sierra Bookshop, Rainbow Mountain and Meyers Elementary School. Tickets also will be available at the door.

Great Leap will be performing for local middle and high school students as part of the Tahoe Arts Project in-school performing arts programs.

Tahoe Arts Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide cultural enrichment and diversity for the community through the arts and education with particular focus on youth.
