Search your sofa cushions, look in your car ashtray, do whatever you can to pull $40 together, and head over to The Electric Pencil for the “Tattooed for Good” marathon fundraiser.

Tattoo artist Kat Adlerz will be creating for 24 nonstop hours starting at noon Tuesday and finishing at noon Wednesday in efforts to raise money for the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center.

“We are very appreciative of Kat’s creativity and efforts to help,” said Anna Richter, development director for the SLTWC.

Having dealt with issues herself, and having friends who were clients at the Women’s Center, Adlerz chose the center as the recipient of her efforts.

“I wanted to give something back, and this is how I can do it, plus make a lot of people happy. I would like to do this once a month for different organizations,” Adlerz said.

Those wishing to participate can choose from a variety of designs from a preset list, choose something off-the-wall, or bring in their own design. Adlerz hopes to ink three people per hour “if the designs are small and not too intricate.”
