Teachers picket in front of school district office
More than 100 Lake Tahoe Unified School District teachers picketed Tuesday in front of the district office.
In the second informational picket held this month, teachers said they are trying to promote public awareness about contract issues.
“It was an informational picket to try to inform the public on what our issues are,” said Mike Patterson, South Tahoe Educators Association president. “We’re just asking the district to pass on our share of the money they got from the state.”
The state of California awarded Lake Tahoe Unified School District a 10.9 percent cost of living adjustment. The unrestricted monies total about $2 million.
