Teenage girl arrested for store robbery
A 17-year-old girl was arrested in connection to a convenience store robbery while a 21-year-old woman was released from custody, authorities said.
The teenager allegedly entered Stop N Save Gas Liquor Market last week and acted like she had a gun in her jacket, said police Detective Danny Mosqueira.
The teenager allegedly attempted to get cash but Mosqueira said she didn’t receive any. A clerk and male customer tried to detain the teenager but couldn’t maintain the grip.
“(They) had a hold of her jacket by both sleeve arms and she wiggled away,” he said.
Descriptions of the teenager and the getaway car led police to the two females about 20 minutes after the arrest. The 21-year-old had two of her children in the car, allowing police to also charge the teenager with child endangerment, Mosqueira said.
The teenager was booked into Placerville’s juvenile hall, where she remained Friday. The 21-year-old was released.
“However, that does not preclude the possibility of charges being filed in the future,” Mosqueira said.
