Temporary paid elections workers needed

The El Dorado County elections department is looking for a few good civic-minded citizens for temporary employment on one of the most important days of the year.

The elections department is in need of South Lake Tahoe residents to work as poll workers for election day on Nov. 7. This job begins at 6 a.m. on Nov. 7 and ends about 9 p.m. that evening.

In addition, there are training courses to attend before the election. “Many citizens return again and again to help us, but, we do need additional workers for each election,” said William Schultz, El Dorado County registrar.

The following are the positions and what they pay:

— Inspectors, $120 for the day

— Judges, $105 for the day

— Clerks, $95 for the day

— In addition attendance at a training class is required.
