Tennis rackets sought

The Family Resource Center, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe and USPTA Tennis Pro David Alexander are teaming up to offer no-cost tennis lessons to local youth. The program needs the help of the community. Organizers are looking for used tennis rackets so all students will have their own racket to play with.

Alexander teaches tennis for the Boys & Girls Club from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Classes are available to all members. The membership fee is $10 per year. The Family Resource Center summer camp program benefits from Alexander’s expertise as well.

Old tennis rackets and unopened cans of balls may be brought to the Family Resource Center, 3501 B Spruce Ave., or to the Boys and Girls Club at the South Tahoe Middle School until Aug. 17. For more information call (530) 542-0838.
