Thank you for donating to Gulf oil cleanup

Amanda Burroughs, hairdresser at Heaven Sent and one of the top stylists in “Best of Tahoe,” organized a fundraiser at the weekend to help to clean the birds and animals affected by the Gulf oil spill. The event took place at the Bijou Center’s Red White and Bijou event on July 4. She cut inches off hair to also donate to help the cleanup. Kids and parents had their hair sprayed red, white and blue for Independence Day. There was duck fishing and guess how many jelly beans, all for donations. Fun was had by all.

Amanda wishes to thank every one who donated hair and money to the cause. She raised $315, which will be sent to Audubon Nature Institute. She also would like to thank Gena and Elvia, her mom and dad Carole and Bruce and the kind people who came along to lend a hand.
