Thanksgiving feast on Monday at St. Theresa

Dan Thrift / Tahoe Daily TribuneDiane Weidinger, left, and Riana Cerceo will be among the volunteers serving the Bread and Broth Thanksgiving dinner on Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

The community is invited to attend Bread and Broth’s 19th annual Thanksgiving feast from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the Parish Hall at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave.

This is a free dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. The dinner is open to anyone but is especially for those for whom this will be their only opportunity to have a Thanksgiving meal.

Bread and Broth has served thousands of meals on a weekly basis since 1989. This community program operates with local volunteer support and is funded solely through cash and food donations. It has been a significant service to our community by providing a full dinner every Monday of the year to those who are struggling financially, those who live on a substandard, fixed income, and to the homeless. In addition to receiving a meal, there usually is food that the clients can take home.

The Thanksgiving feast traditionally serves hundreds of people. If you need a free, wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, please join in. If you would like to support Bread and Broth during this holiday season, please drop your donations off at St. Theresa Church or mail to Bread and Broth, 1041 Lyons Ave., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.

Volunteers are needed to help with Bread and Broth. New volunteer orientation can be arranged by calling Vicki at (530) 544-0557.
