That’s life: Las Vegas marks anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s death

Associated Press

LAS VEGAS (AP) ” Las Vegas is one of three cities marking the 10th anniversary of the death of Frank Sinatra.

A new 42-cent stamp honoring the longtime Las Vegas headliner goes on sale next week, but was sold Tuesday at the Bellagio and Wynn casinos after daughter, Tina Sinatra, joined Postal Service governor James Bilbray in a dedication ceremony.

At midnight Wednesday, more than 16 casino marquees plan to post special messages honoring the influential showman.

Other ceremonies were held in other places associated with Sinatra. In New York, senior postal officials joined Sinatra’s children, Nancy Sinatra and Frank Sinatra Jr., in a ceremony at Gotham Hall. Frank Sinatra Jr. also went to a ceremony in Hoboken, N.J., Sinatra’s hometown.
