SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Popular old-time trio the Devil Makes Three is set to return to MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa this January.

The band recently announced it would play the casino’s theater on Wednesday, Jan. 27, as part of its winter tour, which includes stops around the U.S.

The Devil Makes Three’s last performance at Lake Tahoe, in February 2014, sold out the theater at MontBleu.

Pete Bernhard (vocals/guitar), Cooper McBean (guitar/banjo) and Lucia Turino (upright bass) make up the group, which formed in Santa Cruz, California, around 2001.

The group’s sound is described as “garage-y ragtime, punkified blues, old n’ new timey without settling upon a particular era” in the band’s press materials.

The Devil Makes Three released its most recent full-length album, “I’m A Stranger Here,” in October 2014. It released a single, “Dragging Chains,” in January and has put out a series of live videos since the release of “I’m A Stranger Here.”

Blues, country and folk singer-songwriter Parker Millsap is set to open the Jan. 17 show.

Tickets are on sale now at http://www.ticketmaster.com. General admission tickets are $30 plus fees.
