The late summer breezes are blowing in a new performance by the Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area: “Introducing Toccata Winds.”

The third annual Summer MusicFest continues with three chamber music concerts highlighting Toccata’s new woodwind quintet: Marianne Maytan on oboe, Darrell Moore on clarinet, Ben Benson on bassoon, flutist Toni Healy, and Bruce Kanzelmeyer on French horn. The members of the quintet are the principal winds of the Toccata chamber orchestra.

The classical group will present “Introducing Tahoe Winds” Monday, Aug. 25, as a musical soiree for new donors at a private residence in South Lake Tahoe. For information on the South Shore performance, call (775) 833-2478.

Toccata is offering a free concert in the series at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Squaw Valley Village Chapel, 440 Squaw Peak Road. In addition, Toccata will present “Introducing Tahoe Winds” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Trinity Church in Reno. The program highlights Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds in E Flat Major with guest pianist Damon Stevens, “Sweets” by local composer Gary Buchanan and “The Invisible Flute” by Saint-Saëns. Soprano Anna Helwing also will perform several selections.

The Summer MusicFest continues Sept. 10-11 and 14 with the Festival Orchestra and Chorus performing Brahms’ Requiem and Beethoven’s First Symphony under the conduction of maestro James Rawie, the festival’s founder and artistic director.
