A ski and snowboard rail jam early next week will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.

Sushi Pier Tahoe will host the 5th annual Shred for Sushi Rail Jam at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.

“Shred for Sushi has become the unofficial start to winter in South Lake Tahoe, gathering the community together with their love for snow and passion for a good cause,” said Leslie Schultz of On Course Events, in a press release for the event. “Last year’s event raised money for the Boys & Girls Club to provide ski and snowboard equipment, safety gear and a trip to Yosemite for local kids. We’re excited to see this event continue to grow and benefit great organizations in our community.”

This event will also feature live DJs, food and drink specials, Lauren Lindley’s photo booth, live art from Will Eichelberger, local vendor and sponsor booths and a raffle with prizes including a new snowboard.

Entrance for competitors is $20. Registration for the event takes place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Proceeds from the rail jam, raffle and venue proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. The nonprofit organization has empowered local youth to reach their full potential by providing a safe place to learn and grow for the past 24 years.
