Fall is around the corner, and few foods pair as perfectly with the season as chili.

And thanks to the Kirkwood Community Association, you have a chance to get your fill of some of the best chili in the region this weekend.

The 18th annual “Thin Air” Chili Cook Off returns to Kirkwood on Saturday, Sept. 1, and attendees can expect plenty of family fun in addition to tasty chili.

“The event, sponsored by the Kirkwood Community Association, features the region’s top chili makers, beer and wine tasting, live music provided by the Wesley Orsolic Band and a kid’s zone with face painting, a bounce house, games and arts and crafts (for a $10 entry fee),” states the event description.

Those $21 and older can buy a beer/wine tasting kit, which includes a commemorative glass and a chili tasting ticket. The cost is $35.

A chili tasting ticket— does not included alcohol — is $20.

Net proceeds will benefit both the Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department and the Kirkwood Rescue Avalanche Dog Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased at the Kirkwood Village Plaza on the day of the event or online at bit.ly/ThinAirChiliCookOff.

Kirkwood Village Plaza is located at 1377 Kirkwood Meadows Drive.
