Halloween’s traditional spooky celebration — parties, treats, costumes and tricks — returns this week, with the official holiday landing on Monday. There are lots of adult- and kids-themed events on tap, most notably the annual Freaker’s Ball, planned for 8 p.m. at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa this Saturday, Oct. 29. Known to many as the party of the year, expect to see locals and visitors decked in their holiday best.

Here are three other fun picks for the week:

1. ROCKIN’ DEAD HALLOWEEN BASH

The Rockin’ Dead Halloween Bash kicks off Friday, Oct. 28, at 9 p.m. in Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A costume contest will be held at 1 a.m. with $5,000 in prize money split between winners.

2. ATTEND A HARVEST PARTY

Revive Coffee & Wine, along with South Tahoe Standup Paddle, will host its inaugural Harvest Party. It’s free, family friendly and is planned from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

3. HAUNTED LOFT PARTY

The Loft in Heavenly Village will also throw its first-ever Halloween Bash at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. A costume party is planned as well “groovy house music.”
