This week’s action: Spooky entertainment leads South Shore event calendar (Caitlin Row, opinion)

The new season of “Walking Dead” debuts Sunday, Oct. 23 — and never have I been more excited. I’ve been hooked on this zombie apocalypse survival drama since its pilot; and the spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead” recently got my attention, too.

Check out Tribune publisher Rob Galloway’s take on why Tahoe is the best place to survive a zombie infestation — it’s in Lake Tahoe Action and online. I particularly enjoyed his take on “Tahoe time.”

Here are three fun picks for the week:

1. HALLOWEEN EVENTS GALORE

Lake Tahoe’s South Shore offers lots of adult-themed Halloween parties, including the Rockin’ Dead Halloween Bash Friday, Oct. 28; The Loft’s Halloween Bash on Saturday, Oct. 29; Peek Nightclub’s “A Twisted Fairy Tale” event on Saturday, Oct. 29; and the 38th annual Freaker’s Ball on Saturday, Oct. 29.

2. WORDWAVE

WordWave: A Festival of Story, is held from Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23, at Valhalla Tahoe. The second annual Tall Timber Ball, a steampunk-style event, is this Friday. Costumes are encouraged.

3. MUSIC AT THE LAKE

The Lovin’ Spoonful, an iconic 1960s band, performs at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Lake Tahoe Action, an events and entertainment weekly, publishes Fridays and is available across the South Shore. Content is also available at http://www.tahoedailytribune.com.
