Thousands cast ballots early in Douglas County

With early voting wrapping up Friday in Carson Valley, 338 people cast their ballots Wednesday at the transportation center in Stateline.

More than 10,400 Douglas County residents took advantage of early voting, a county election official said.

Friday is the last day for early voting for all registered Douglas County residents. Voters can go to the CVIC Hall, 602 Esmeralda Ave. in Minden, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be no early voting polls Friday on the Tahoe side of Douglas County; however, Tahoe voters can go the CVIC Hall to vote.

The polls will be open next from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

In other election news, there will be a candidate forum Saturday among the six candidates for South Lake Tahoe City Council.

The forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Duke Theater at Lake Tahoe Community College.
