Thursday’s weather: Partly cloudy today, sunny on Friday and into the weekend

Tom Cylke

A moist southerly flow will bring more clouds to the Tahoe area today, but increasing southwest winds in the afternoon should push any thunderstorm development over Western Nevada.

Highs today are forecast to reach the upper 70s to mid 80s around the lake with southwest winds 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Lows tonight are expected to dip into the lower to mid 40s.

A trough of low pressure moving toward the Pacific Northwest coast will bring a drier southwesterly flow on Friday and through the weekend. Little change in temperatures are projected for Friday with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s around the lake. Look for sunny skies on Friday with southwest winds increasing to 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon.
