Timberlake’s 901 tequila named official tequila of American Century Championship

STATELINE — For the second straight year, 901 will be the American Century Championship’s tequila of choice. The tequila founded by ACC participant Justin Timberlake will have an on-course and promotional presence at the 27th annual tournament, which will be played Friday through Sunday, July 22-24, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
Timberlake, who made his ACC debut last year, created the tequila in 2009. Five years later it was branded Sauza 901 in part as a tribute to the superstar’s hometown — now, it is simply branded with the area code for Memphis, Tennessee.
As part of the sponsorship, tournament officials have created the 901 Tequila Bar on the 14th hole during competition Thursday through Sunday. That venue open to patrons 21 years and older will feature a viewing platform at one of the best spectator locations on the course, cash bar and food.
901 tequila will also be featured at the tournament’s Wednesday night pairings party and Saturday evening awards party. For more information, visit http://www.901.com, find 901Tequila on Facebook, or follow @901Tequila on Twitter and Instagram.
