Time for holiday pet photos
Mark your pet’s calendar because Santa Paws is coming to town, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday – sun or snow.
It’s the 18th annual Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. Santa Paws Photo Benefit, featuring poses with Tahoe’s own giant dog.
Bows and antlers are available to borrow for the photo.
The photo studio is courtesy of American Legion Post 795, on Lake Tahoe Boulevard across from Meeks Building Center.
The studio is warm and there’s plenty of free parking. All pets must be on a short leash or in a carrier. Cats, dogs and other friendly companion animals are welcome.
Thanks to the generosity of co-sponsors Sierra Photo Center and the American Legion, all proceeds go to local Tahoe animal welfare programs. One pose is $10 and two poses are $15. Both pets and people can be included in the groupings.
The fee includes a full color, 5-by-7-inch photo. At pickup, other size reprints are available to order in time for greeting card enclosures.
Donations of brand name cat and dog cereal for the year-around emergency pet food bank may be dropped off at the event between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no national humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals for local program help.
Serving California and Nevada for 37 years, the work of the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. is supported completely by direct donation. Information is available at (530) 577-4521.
