Time to sign up for scholarships at LTCC

Provided to the Tribune

Spring quarter classes are under way at Lake Tahoe Community College, and so is the time for scholarships. This year through donations to the LTCC Foundation and other community organizations there are several new and returning scholarships. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is May 17.

From study abroad to music, these scholarship opportunities provide a way for students to pursue a wide range of interests. Students interested in improving their vocal performance and musical skills can apply for up to $600 in scholarship money with $200 being awarded each quarter. Second-language learners can earn tuition for three quarters of study. There is a scholarship to help pay for textbooks. The John Holland Scholarship offers $2,000 for serious visual arts students. In memory of local massage therapist Theresa Reuter, her family has started a scholarship in her name for women students between 18 and 30 who are serious students of the healing arts.

Students can apply for these scholarships in the Student Services office, room A100, or can request a form by e-mailing Julie Cathie at cathie@ltcc.edu.

The college is located at One College Drive off Al Tahoe Boulevard. For more information call (530) 541-4660, Ext. 236.
