Provided to the Tribune

A fully executed and notarized lease has been received from TJ Maxx, the city of South Lake Tahoe announced Friday.

The exterior of the building at the Y was remodeled over past year to attract a new tenant. City staff was notified by the architect that the building permit will be picked up in the next few days so that the construction for the interior remodel on the 23,000-square-foot tenant space can start the week of July 8.

TJ Maxx store is expected to open in the fall, according to the city.
