Tocatta is returning to St. Theresa Church

The Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area, Tocatta, will continue its Big Blue Summer Musicfest with the Tocatta Winds Chamber Music Series.

Tocatta will perform at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave.

The four-concert chamber music series features Toni Healy, flute; Marianne Maytan, oboe; Darrell Moore, clarinet; Ben Benson, bassoon; and Bruce Kanzelmayer, French horn. Works to be performed include the “Morning Mood” from Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, the “Grand Septet” by Georg Onslow and a concerto movement by Mozart. Joining the winds will be Donna Axton, piano, and Anna Helwing, soprano, who will perform selections from Bach’s Cantata # 208, and Händel’s German Aria #2, “Das zitternde Glanzen.”



The concert will be repeated at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Squaw Valley Chapel, and at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tahoe City. The final concert of this series is part of Tocatta Tuesdays in Reno, and takes place at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Steinway Gallery, 500 East Moana Lane in Reno.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 seniors age 62 and up, $5 for students under 23 with a valid student ID, and children under 12 enter free with a paying adult. These concerts are supported by grants from the Kling Family Foundation and the Valhalla-Tahoe-Tallac Association.
