Tough weekend for Warriors softball

Whittell’s softball team lost three of three games at the Yerington Crossover Tournament this weekend.
In the first game against Lovelock the Warriors scored one run because of a hit by pitch and Katie Besson producing a double. Sara Gillespie also got a hit. Marissa Besson pitched getting three strike outs and the loss. Warriors lost 9-1.
In the second game against Yerington the Warriors had five hits against good pitching, scoring five runs. Katie and Marissa Besson, Megan Miller, Sara Gillespie, and Jessie Sayre all made hits. Warriors lost 12-3.
The third game was against Silver Stage and once again found the Warriors losing 11-5. Warriors had three hits, Sara Gillespie, Jessie Sayre and Brianna Brewer with a double. Amanda Harris pitched producing two strike outs and giving up four unearned runs.
