Toy drive gets under way

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring a toy drive for Project Santa Claus.

New unwrapped gifts may be dropped off at collection bins in the main sheriff’s office or at any substation. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 16.

The sheriff’s office and substations are also drop-off locations for the Carson Valley Food Closet. Nonperishable food items will be accepted through Dec. 9.

Drop-off locations are:

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Tahoe Administrative Building, 175 Highway 50, Stateline; Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, 1625 8th Street, Minden; Tillman substation, 1281 Kimmerling No. 9, Gardnerville; Sunridge substation, 3587 North Sunridge Drive, Indian Hills.; Topaz substation, 1470 Albite, Wellington.
