Traffic controls will continue through next week

Staff Reports

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Caltrans will continue to intermittently close two lanes of Highway 50 through South Lake Tahoe as they work on the curbs, sidewalks and gutters at least until Nov. 4.

Work on the Ski Run to Trout Creek Project continues on a week to week basis, said Caltrans spokeswoman Deanna Shoopman. When the weather begins to interfere, construction will stop, she said.

Caltrans is not allowed to do any earth work or digging past Oct. 15 because of a Tahoe Regional Planning Agency regulation.

Crews will also work to clear drainage along the highway as part of Caltrans’ “winterization” of the road.
