Traffic referee named for El Dorado County Superior Court

Douglas C. Phimister has been named traffic referee for the El Dorado County Superior Court.

Phimister will hear all traffic cases which do not involve juveniles. The Shingle Springs resident will also serve as a judge pro tempore for small claims in both South Lake Tahoe and Placerville.

Presiding Judge Suzanne N. Kingsbury said Phimister’s presence will establish a consistency in decision making, which the court has been lacking.



Phimister graduated from the University of LaVerne Law School in Los Angeles. He practiced law in Ventura County before moving to El Dorado County in 1977. A member of the State Bar of California and the Bars of the federal District Courts in Sacramento and San Francisco and of the Ninth Circuit. He lives in Shingle Springs.
