Trail building volunteers needed for Genoa Foothill Trail Project

The Carson Valley Trails Association needs volunteers to help with trail building for the Genoa Foothill Trail Project.

Upcoming trail building dates are Sept. 11, Sept. 16, Sept. 20, Sept. 23, Sept. 29 and Sept. 30. Trail building takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Sierra Canyon located 0.5 mi. north of Genoa, west on Centennial Drive to Snowshoe Lane.

Parking is located at the junction of Centennial Drive and Snowshoe Lane. No previous trail building experience is needed. Volunteers may work for all or part of the day. Volunteers must wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, sturdy hiking shoes or boots and glasses or sunglasses. Hard hats and tools are provided.

Funding for the Genoa Foothill Trail Project has been provided by ongoing fundraising, donations and a grant from the State of Nevada, Division of State Lands, Conservation and Resource Protection Grant Program.

The Carson Valley Trails Association is a nonprofit, volunteer based organization working with partners to provide access to public lands through a recreational trail system for present and future generations to enjoy.
