Transportation agencies offer open houses
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Agencies involved in transit throughout the region gathered inside the Nevada legislature on Wednesday for a chance to display their upcoming projects to the public.
“It was a very inviting way for people to find out what’s going on with the agencies,” said Tahoe Transportation District manager Carl Hasty.
Topics presented were bike trails connecting Tahoe to Carson City and Gardnerville, a passenger ferry that would shuttle people across the lake, and the connectivity of the region’s transit services. The public was encouraged to provide input and the agencies had an opportunity to interact.
“Everybody found it an effective forum or an effective way of getting (all the agencies) together,” Hasty said.
The next two open houses do not have dates yet, but will happen in Gardnerville and Reno in June, Hasty said.
