Treat Street, fun runs scheduled

Fall events highlight safe Halloween activities for youth and fun fitness.

The City of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Tri Club have partnered to provide a series of three fun runs this fall season including Tahoe’s Freakin’ Fun Run, Turkey Trot and Jingle Jog.

The second annual Tahoe’s Freakin’ Fun Run will be held on Oct. 25 at the Community Playfields located at 1300 Al Tahoe Blvd.

The Fun Run will begin at 10 a.m. and participants are encouraged to dress in Halloween attire with prizes for Best Costume and Most Ridiculous Costume.

The Turkey Trot will be held on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. at Bijou Park and the Jingle Jog will be held on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Community Playfields.

The 13th annual Treat Street will be held on Oct. 31st at the Lake Tahoe Airport located at 1901 Airport Road.

All trick-or-treaters are invited to this free-of-charge evening of fun and games from 5 to 8 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to provide a safe environment for youth on Halloween. There will be a haunted house, a bounce house, live radio remote and other special events. For more information on the Fun Runs and to register visit
