Trivia contest held at library

The South Lake Tahoe Branch library will sponsor a children’s Trivia Contest beginning Dec. 12 and ending Feb. 14. The contest is free and open to fourth- fifth- and sixth-grade readers, who love to read and live in El Dorado and have a current active El Dorado County Library card.

Each child who enters the contest will pick up a copy of the Trivia Contest sheet at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd. They will read at least eight of the listed books and answer one question for each book. They must be sure to include books for five different genres. These include science fiction, mystery/suspense, fantasy, contemporary, historical fiction, classic and non-fiction. Next, they will bring the completed sheet to the library anytime before closing on Feb. 14. Bookstore gift certificates will be awarded to participants who have at least eight questions answered correctly.

For more information call the library at (530) 573-3185.
