TRPA gives out awards to best designed projects

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency every year awards projects at Lake Tahoe Basin that achieve excellence in design and protect the environment. This year’s winners were announced Wednesday at the Horizon Casino Resort at the agency’s Governing Board meeting.

n Residential modification: 4852 West Lake Blvd., (West Shore) Kay & Howard Turner

n New residential: 754 Price Lane, (Fallen Leaf Lake) Mellberg Family Trust.



n Research facility: Lake Tahoe storm water treatment small-scale pilot project, Caltrans.

n Public service: “A” line horizontal directional drill under Trout Creek Meadow, South Tahoe Public Utility District.




n Recreation: Incline Village Swim Center & Beach House, Incline Village General Improvement District.

n Best Management Practices for Erosion Control Retrofit Project: Tahoe City Travelodge and Tahoe Inn Investment Group, Tahoe Lodging LLC and Carl and Douglas Pendleton.

Restoration Project: Trout Creek restoration, city of South Lake Tahoe.
