Truckee-Tahoe – Pet of the Week – Pistol

Pistol is this week’s Pet of the Week.
Provided

There’s really no other way to describe this young pup, Pistol, other than just like his slang name infers, very energetic, spirited and smart as a whip. If Pistol could have any job he would choose fitness instructor, like his idol the very popular 80’s peppy fitness guru, Richard Simmons. Fitness instructor would be his full time job and his part time (hobby) job would be puzzle toy tester enthusiast!

At a year and a half and only 40lbs, Pistol is the perfect size to accompany you on all of your adventures! Whether you’re running, walking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing or even just playing a good game of fetch out back, Pistol is absolutely down for any type of exercise, especially if it means being with you! Pistol not only loves being active outside with you, he also can entertain himself with a good ole fashion treat puzzle, even more so if you load it up with his very favorite treat, peanut butter.

As if Pistol couldn’t get any better, he is also actively practicing training skills here at the shelter and so far knows his name and sit. Pistol plays really great with other dogs and would do well in a home with another canine friend.

If you enjoy long walks, active sports, plenty of exercise and time outdoors, Pistol will make a perfect companion for you! He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Pistol or learning more about him, please reach out to one of HSTT’s Adoption Specialists at, 530-587-5948 or adoptions@hstt.org.
