TRYP receives grant

Tribune staff report

Tahoe Regional Young Professionals (TRYP) was selected as one of the nonprofit organizations to receive a $1,000 grant from the American Century Championship (ACC), the Lake Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament. In partnership with American Century Investments and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, NBC Sports granted a portion of the tournament proceeds to local organizations in Tahoe South that benefit the South Shore community.

“TRYP has gained traction as a new nonprofit organization serving Lake Tahoe,” said Lyndsay Bryant, TRYP executive director. “Our 501(c)3 status gives us the opportunity to seek the funding necessary to empower young professionals and help them in their personal and professional lives.”

The grant funds will be used to support the TRYP Professional Development Program, which offers scholarships and workshops for professionals of any age or industry. In the past, TRYP has provided scholarships to the Leadership Lake Tahoe Program and Tahoe Startup Weekend. TRYP is committed to supporting young professionals who are driven to pursue their future at Lake Tahoe.

The check will be presented at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority Board of Directors meeting on Nov. 13, at 2:45 p.m. in the LTVA conference room located at 169 Highway 50 in Stateline, Nev.
