Twin sisters found dead on April Way

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Detectives with the El Dorado Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of twin sisters, whose bodies were found in a residence on April Way Sunday.

The 73-year-old twins appear to have died from natural causes, said detective Matt Harwood. A report from the El Dorado County coroner is still pending.

Though it is likely one died before the other, it is unclear why no one called for help, Harwood said. No foul play is suspected.

Sheriffs happened upon the bodies after a welfare check by Star Patrol was not responded to. The women have been residents of South Lake Tahoe since at least the 1970s, Harwood said. Not much else is known about the women, he added.

“My understanding from talking to some of the neighbors is that they were pretty quiet,” Harwood said.
