Two Billion Cars: Driving Towards Sustainability

Americans’ love affair with the automobile and its environmental impacts will be the topic of a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences, 291 Country Club Drive (Sierra Nevada College campus), Incline Village.

Dr. Dan Sperling and Dr. Tom Turrentine, of the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS) at UC Davis, will present their research on America’s ongoing love affair with the car and the widespread environmental impacts and global conflicts over oil supply it creates, and give insight of energy solutions of the future.
