TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Lake Tahoe fire officials are reporting two fatalities related to a structure fire that occurred in the early morning hours Tuesday.

At about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a fire was reported at a residence on Spruce Avenue in Tahoe City, said Dave Zaski, public information officer for the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District.

The fire was contained overnight, Zaski said. Two bodies were located in the wreckage, Zaski said, although he couldn’t comment further at the time of this writing.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has designated the structure and area around the home as a crime scene.
