Two injured in collision on Highway 50

Two people were injured in a collision Friday on Highway 50.

The crash occured around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 50 when a white Chevrolet headed eastbound on Highway 50 attempted to turn left on Los Angeles Ave. and was hit by a red Dodge Durango headed westbound, South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Josh Adler said.

A woman who was a passenger in the Chevrolet was transported by helicopter to a trauma center, Adler said. The man driving the Dodge was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital.

Police didn’t report any injuries to the driver of the Chevrolet.
