Two more homers for WCC leader Yarrow

Moving into the conference baseball season hasn’t slowed down the home-run swing of Stephen Yarrow.

The former South Tahoe High baseball player smashed a pair of home runs in a 20-9 shelling of Gonzaga on Saturday in San Francisco.

Yarrow clobbered a three-run homer and a two-run shot as the Dons evened their West Coast Conference record at 1-1. He now has hit 12 home runs for the season.

The two teams tried to get in the final game of a three-game series Saturday, but the finale was suspended through 12 innings because of darkness and suspended a second time Sunday because of rain.

San Francisco (16-15 overall) is scheduled to play close to his former home on Tuesday when the Dons visit UC Davis for a 2:30 p.m. game.
